COMMITMENT
ENVIRONMENTAL. ECODESIGN
Continuing with our policy of respect for the establishment of ISO 14001:2004, aware of the new challenges that our companies have to deal with and the aim of add value to our products, the Centre for Footwear Technology from La Rioja launched with ROBUSTA®, in 2009, a project about ECODESIGN requirements designed to facilitate the incorporation of environmental criteria in the design and development of footwear. To develop this project with safety shoes and professional use ROBUSTA® was chosen owing to his important political awareness of environmental commitment and innovative capacity.
The project presents a number of advantages inherent in new product development policy understood by ROBUSTA® management, R&D Department and design department.
• Product more responsible with the environment.
• Reduced manufacturing costs through optimization processes.
• Optimization of the available resources.
• Increase the quality product.
• Reinforcement of the product image and brand.
And objectives looking for:
• To get products that throughout their lifetime have the minimum impact on the environment.
• To pass on the strategic vision of Ecodesign as a competitiveness and innovation factor.
• To know all environmental aspects that may arise in our company.
• To collect and include environmental improvements related to the design and development of our footwear to reduce the nal impact.
METHOD
The method used by ROBUSTA® takes into account the
environmental impacts at some stages of design and product development, to make products that generate the minimum environmental impact throughout their life cycle.

Calzados Robusta® has accomplished the Record of Carbon Footprint, compensation and projects of absorption of carbon dioxide (CO2) granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, obtaining the seal for CO2 calculation and reduction.
